ashwin.sudhir Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 After a game is finished, and no game logic is running I tried keeping the camera static at a location. There's very little motion happening, like animated foliage, but nothing more. Even then the Render profiler line shows regular spikes like this : What could be the reason for these? Thanks.
manguste Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Everything (renderer, scripts, physics) spikes at once, which indicates it's something system induced.
ulf.schroeter Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Everything (renderer, scripts, physics) spikes at once, which indicates it's something system induced. We also encountered such rendering spikes all the time (seems to be hard to avoid under windows). Could be anything from virus scanner to windows filesystem indexing kickin-in in the background. Could also be related to some network activity by the system. A quick-and-easy test to start is to simply disconnect the network cable and to watch for effects on render spike frequency
ashwin.sudhir Posted September 14, 2012 Author Posted September 14, 2012 Thank you ulf! Maybe we should hook up perfmon counters for paging etc. and start looking for correlations...
