cor Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Hi Is Unigine going to support passive 3D in the near future? There are more and more monitor brands available that have passive 3D. This is the line alternating left/right type of 3D. If so, is it going to work with multiple screen setups? If not, can this be done by the customers?
manguste Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 That's possible, we already have horizontal (render_stereo 2) and vertical (render_stereo 3) buffers for stereo. The only thing left is to a composite shader for them. Can you give more details for what monitors do you need such stereo? (We need more information on how exactly lines are alternated). It's possible we implement this on our side.
cor Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks Manguste, I would like to use line-interlaced passive 3D monitors like the Asus VG23AH. Currently I use 3 active displays in 3Dsurround mode. And I use a seperate frustum for each monitor (or actually 2 because it is stereoscopic). Can I use the same setup including the seperate frustums in the line-interlaced mode too? Do you have any ideas if and when these shaders will be implemented?
manguste Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Cor, as soon as I can tell any details or ETA, I'll immediately post them here.
manguste Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Done! See on your monitors this SDK release.
