demostenes Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 After latest update camera accelaration in editor stopped working.
sebastianbah Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Sorry, we can't reproduce this issue. It seems that camera acceleration works fine. Which OS platform do you use?
demostenes Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Win7. I reproduced problem even in fresh SDK package. Put min speed 0, max speed 500, acceleration 1 and it will not even move. I case of min speed 1 there is no acceleration. Previous version works OK.
sebastianbah Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 If you want to increase camera speed smoothly you can set acceleration value to 0.1 or smaller and use Shift. "Always Run" in Options->Controls should be disabled otherwise velocity will be decreased smoothly from max to min speed.
demostenes Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Sure, I know these tricks. Problem is, that after update acceleration does not work at all.
sebastianbah Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Sorry, but we can't reproduce this behavior, camera acceleration works the same way in latest SDK and some previous version. What version did you use before the update? Or could you please provide us some other adittional information, it will be very helpful. Thanks!
demostenes Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Sorry, but we can't reproduce this behavior, camera acceleration works the same way in latest SDK and some previous version. What version did you use before the update? Or could you please provide us some other adittional information, it will be very helpful. Thanks! We were using previous SDK. Also other team members confirmed this issue. Which information could help you? Thanks.
sebastianbah Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Sorry, we're trying to clearify the situation so, please, could you try to use the following options. Expectation is a gradual increasing of camera velocity when you try to move it by W,S,A,D buttons. What is the camera behavior in your case? Thanks!
demostenes Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 This seems to work (camera accelerates, anyway I dont understand why, because min=max, so logically there is no space for acceleration). But when I change to min 1, max 20, acc 1, there is no acceleration.
sebastianbah Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Acceleration is not about increasing camera velocity from min to max. It is about increasing velocity up to min when Shift is not pressed and up to max velocity when Shift is pressed.“Always run” option is switching min and max velocity. So, in your example velocity increases from 0 to 1 and you can't observe any acceleration. Thanks for vigilance!

sebastianbah Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 No, there was no changes. Camera works the same way.
demostenes Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 No, there was no changes. Camera works the same way. There must be something changed, because since new SDK old settings stopped working...But ok, it does not matter.
