mathias.poupard Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Hello, When I change the value of the density layer image of our ObjectSky at runtime, the appearance of the volumetric clouds slowly interpolates to the selected layer (it takes a few seconds with our current settings) - which looks nice - but at times I would like to be able to control the speed at which clouds change. Is there a way to speed things up? I'm guessing it somehow might have to do with the transition and extinction probability factors of the ObjectSky but I have not been able to figure it out so far. Thanks for reading.
ulf.schroeter Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Not 100% sure, but I think UNIGINE cloud simulation is based on this approach. Maybe there is some usefull information for you
mathias.poupard Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 Thanks a lot for the link Ulf. At first it sounds like there is no trivial solution for this, as the authors state somewhere in the document: assigning values to the effect parameters is not intuitive; minute changes to any of the parameters bring about extreme changes in the scene. I will give it a more thorough read when I get the time, though.
