ulf.schroeter Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Does UNIGINE assume texture origin at upper left image corner with y going "downward" as depicted in the image view ? I just got a little bit confused when applying diffuse texture to ObjectTerrain due to flipped y-orientation of the object applied texture (compared to its orientation in image view or image editor programm). Same issue also arises for other object like WorldClutter, WorldOccluderTerrain or ObjectGrass where mask textures have to be y-flipped before object usage to achive same layout as during texture editing due to "lower left" object origin with y going "upward". Is this the intended way ?
frustum Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Terrain heightmap and textures are flipped by Y axis. ObjectGrass, WorldClutter, WorldOccluderTerrain are flipped in same way also. We should add this "features" into the documentation.

I think this would clarify the default texture orientation/implications. A checkbox for y-flipped image presentation in the image dialog might be also usefull
steve.brodie Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 There is still no ability to flip the Terrain/Diffuse/import. This means we still need to manually flip potentially very large images in photoshop. Is there a reason that textures are mapped as if they are being projected from underneath, eg mirrored to what is shown in the diffuse preview window. Can we get an option to flip the diffuse also as Ulf suggested. Thanks

Also, if all texture should be Flipped Y when importing, maybe such flipping should be default or even hidden-and-enabled option? Thanks!
manguste Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 This feauture will be implemented but only in the next update rather than the upcoming one.
