honya Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Hi, i have problem with export animation data from .fbx file that have only skeleton with 2 separated parts from main part. That looks in Autodesk 3ds max 2012: and that looks in Unigine: Can anyone tell me what i need to do to fix it or it is a bug? Thanks for reply. Honya
honya Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 Hi Frustum, here is the source file GRIFFON@idleNormal.rar, it happen on all files that i have with this skeleton. Honya
Guest slice3d Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I can't say where exactly the problem is without having your griffon mesh with Skin modifier applied and all the FBX export settings you use. I've created test scene with a funky dancing chicken.zip (well, sort of :)) and similar rig setup to reproduce your problem, but everything works fine here. Please download this scene and look how it works or provide full original scene used for exporting to FBX format. Also, I recommend you to manually export skinned mesh and all the animations with the help of UnigineTools Exporter instead of using FBX plugin for that.
frustum Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Hi Frustum, here is the source file GRIFFON@idleNormal.rar, it happen on all files that i have with this skeleton. Honya The file contains only animation without geometry.
honya Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 I send to Slice3d .fbx file with geometry, but without animation. So export Skinned mesh from griffon.fbx, export animation from griffon@idleNormal.fbx file. Import griffon to world and load animation on him. Slice3d: I usualy do as you recommended, but i cannot export it in .smesh format, because animations for it are separated from geometry.
frustum Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Im out of the office. Could you send geometry file to my email?
Guest slice3d Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Thanks for providing griffon model! I found the problem - your skin doesn't include Factice005, Factice001, GRIFFON_ L Finger0 objects. All bones and dummys involved in animation must be included in your Skin modifier as bones (at least with zero weights) to be exported with skinned mesh.
honya Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 Slice3d: thanks for founding where is the problem, that it help me a lot to know what i must check when i exporting models and animations to unigine. Honya
frustum Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Your model is importing without distortion artifacts right now. Moreover the support of external animations have been added.
honya Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 Hi, i check new function for set external animation on fbx plugin, but it don't import animation, the imported animation have only one frame. I tested on same fbx files that i send you in this topic, but the fbx file with smesh have set all bones. Honya
