Guest shane.ploenges Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hi! We've just found that Volumetric Objects always receive Cloud Shadows, no matter what parameters you specify in the node or material. Is this a bug? Because we don't really want Tunnel Smoke look like a portal into another dimension... :) Can it be fixed or we are doing something wrong?
Guest shane.ploenges Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Looks like any object (not just volumetric objects) always receives clouds shadows despite of its settings.
serega Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Could you please attach your scene where Volumetric Objects receive Cloud Shadows for testing?
Guest shane.ploenges Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Sure, the volumetric object is a rectangle in the tunnel. 1. Note that normal meshes also receive cloud shadows even if I tick off 'receive shadows' and 'receive world shadows' from both surface and material. 2. Also could you please check why our billboard trees conflict with the sky & scattering. It is interesting because it worked correctly in the beginning and then stopped working - I don't remember doing anything for this to happen. Thanks a lot in advance. Attached archived project. I hope that is enough. Let me know if I have to send anything else. Norway.rar
Guest shane.ploenges Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Use "Post scattering" material option. This works. thanks!
