This would be very usefull for transitions rocks2sand, etc...

If I understand you correctly, we already have such functionality (it can be found even in Portangeles demo, please check the attached screenshot). But maybe you want something different feature - for example, painting with terrain brush?

I know, but this terrain texture blending is done via alfa channel. We are using it a lot.

 

This is little bit different case. In this case blend is based on height map, so for example sand will be between stones, unless there are some waves, like in my picture.

Hello demostenes.

We add different details on terrain with masks and blend it through alpha channel but in rocks mask we use height map in alpha channel. You can load landscape plugin and tweak value, width and threshold parameters in the Layers inset and re import masks on terrain. You will see that blending takes by heights.

Ah, thanks for explanation, I didnt know I can use also height map. I was working with it only like with alfa (black or white). It would be worthy of mentioning in documentation :)
