werner.poetzelberger Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Hello, we are using foam for our own solution to visualize an oilpatch on water. It is working pretty well. One thing we experience is, that we do not get any highlights on the patch, when the brightness of the patch is higher than a certain value. Is this possible somehow? It seems, that the foam as in the standard form doesnt take any highlight as well. We have produced 2 projects already but with the old water. This new water is so much better, and we wanna keep that. I can upload a scene as well. But Maybe you can give me a hint where to start, that our programmer can take a look into shaders. Thx. Best
silent Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Hi Werner, I'm afraid, currently there is no such possibility. Will try to create a feature request to devs about this (but not in 2.4 for sure). How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN
werner.poetzelberger Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 Hey, Thanks for your reply. So generally it seems to work ok for us, but not 100% A fuller integration of a "layer" which can lie on the water would be the thing we are looking for. This as well would need a better control of blending the 'layer' over the water. So we would need control over alpha blending as well. Now its not possible to fade the texture (oilpatch) nicely into the water. This are kind of important projects for us, we will do a series of them, exhibited in some prestine places. The better and the more realistic we can produce, the better. If needed, Helmut (programmer) can go into more tech details. We will try some shader hacks for now (reverse eng.) to get some results. As always, we appreciate your help a lot. Thank you very much. Werner
