paint terrain textures

Hi, I can't find any tutorial or source about how to paint textures and how to add a material to the terrain? I simply can't specify a material as terrain material. I don't want to add a precomputed texture map from worldmachine. I wanna try megascans surfaces on the painted terrain in unigine.

Terrain only accepts Landscape Layer Maps as source for the albedo and heights (so you can't use mesh_base derived materials on it).

If you already have a heightmap and albedo you can try to use this C# component instead:
