Wimo135 Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 I'm trying to make a detailed landscape but the details seem to be very pixelated and low res at a close look.
bmyagkov Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Hello! @Wimo135, what resolution of textures are you using for details? Please make sure that the image are imported with desired resolution by selecting file in asset browser and opening "parameters" tab window. Most likely you need to adjust the Landscape Terrain parameters by opening settings window from following path "Editor -> Windows -> Settings -> Runtime -> World -> Render -> Landscape" and increase details resolution from default 1024 to desired one. Thanks!
Wimo135 Posted April 4, 2022 Author Posted April 4, 2022 (edited) I have changed this value but the landscape detail is still very pixelated. The texture im using is a 4k texture from ambientCG. Edited April 4, 2022 by Wimo135

By default there is used height map "white.texture" which is has low resolution 16x16px and adjusting scale value may produce pixelated effect as expected behavior, so try to reduce it to zero. "Size" value are matters too, 4k would be not enough if you are trying to stretch it to 50 meters for example. Here is raw example how it would looks like using high resolution textures: 2022-04-05 12-53-24.mp4 There might be few other reasons related to specific landscape settings. If none of the above helps try to switch geometry preset to "extreme" and see what happens. Thanks!
Wimo135 Posted April 5, 2022 Author Posted April 5, 2022 Here are my detail settings. also Should i be using tif files?

Is there any custom mask used for that detail layer? Did you try to switch "Geometry preset" to "Extreme" on Landscape parameters tab in settings? If it possible I would like to ask you to share project with us to be able too see what happens on our side and have more closer look. You can archive project by doing right mouse click on target ".world" file and select "Export As Package" from menu. If you don't want to share project publicity here then use private message to share the link. Thanks!

To achieve the desired result please switch to "custom" mode for geometry and streaming parameters in the Landscape settings. Then adjust following values as shown on the image below. Thanks!
