TheHighFlys Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) When will we get the "next big update" for unigine? Other engines even Godot 4 is starting to get traction while Unigine has done nothing in terms of marketing, making a brand for itself within the gaming community none the less making a modern particle system that doesn't like it came out of roblox (no offense but it's true, it really low quality particles instead of fire that just "works"), I want this engine to succeed and I want to make AWESOME content on it but, everytime I try to justify using it I just can't seem to get past the particle system and other missing features :/ I would love to get hired onto the Unigine team and help do UI/UX/Feature design work but it seems like this project is dead in the water almost..... werner.poetzelberger Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 This kind of comparison ideas come up from time to time here and I kind of understand it. But straight away, you cannot compare UNIGINE with the other usual suspects, as it has its own unique place on the market. Just look at the portfolio, it is not a Game Engine/Editor with out of the box features which make other products quite convinient for game production. UNIGINE demands effort and passion, programming skills, deep understanding of technology etc. and then it shines so bright that it is blinding! It might be a bit frustrating in the beginning, but it has so much to offer. You pick the particles and the UI, which could be improved for sure, but on the other hand, y would you use it if Unreal has a the much better tools you need? You wouldnt drive a Lorry if you need a racecar? You wouldnt train for a sprint if you want to run a marathon? The great thing is, that UNIGINE is different, not just another competitor amongst others. Re. the UI ... that would be a great if someone takes this on :). Sunday thoughts :) All the best. Werner
