Amerio.Stephane Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 Hello, We need to do a more realistic simulation of a specific headset for NVG flight. More specifically, the NVG headset has the particularity to have the camera on the side of the head, instead of in front of the real eyes. And each camera have a rather narrow field of view, about 40°. (The NVG post effect is a completely different matter at the moment and not a problem). How can we set custom eyes position and simulate a reduced fov? (the VR headset is a VivePro or a Varjo XR3) Thanks!
silent Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 Hi Stephane, Is there any reference for how the rendering should look inside the HMD? It seems that some changes to the engine's VR API would be required for this task, as we currently obtain projection matrices and FOV directly from the VR runtime and cannot adjust them. Need to understand what is required and how hard would it be to implement. Thanks!
