nexys.stormcloud Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) It would be great to be able to add a height offset for alpha blend Landscape Layer Map. At the moment, when you need to add an additional height map on top of the main terrain, you have to add it additively on top of another absolute, height-correcting one. For example, I have a building (or complex of buildings) and a local terrain map tailored to that building. It works fine at zero elevation in alpha blend mode or on a flat surface with additive, but it doesn't work if I need to place the building on top of a hill, for example. bmyagkov Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Hello, It looks like a similar issue has already been raised and discussed on the forum here: At first glance it seems identical to your request. If that is the case, we would like to confirm that we are already working on a solution and plan to introduce it in the upcoming SDK 2.22 update this summer 🙂 If your case is different, please let us know. Thanks! 1
nexys.stormcloud Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 (edited) thank You for the reply! The scenario you described isn't quite what I need. I'm talking about using multiple Landscape Layer Maps to overlay a predefined terrain area onto existing terrain. In additive mode, the predefined terrain is distorted by the base layer, so it's unsuitable, while in alpha blending mode, it has a fixed base height, regardless of the base layer. The lack of ability to adjust the height offset makes it difficult (without some workaround) to correctly place predefined level sections. p.s. right now the workaround is to add "white square" height layer and scale its height, but it have some dificulties with runtime placing Edited June 20 by nexys.stormcloud
